What is the process?

Student activities start their journey with Leaders League through three main phases.

The first phases of the program involve the introduction of the program and creating a platform to raise awareness on environmental challenges and connect interested parties.

After collecting the applications , comes the filtration process, where students apply their ideas, each team consists of 3-5 members.  Every team’s idea is assessed based on how accessible, affordable, and applicable their project is in front of a judging panel that consists of various subject matter experts.

Then comes the development phase which starts with Interpersonal training that focuses on students’ mindset and psychological well-being, cognitive development, and essential skills like communication, presentation, negotiation, etc.

Second step is the awareness training that discuss different topics related to environmentally sustainable issues, Environmental Issues such as Climate Change, Global Warming, Ozone Layer Depletion, Water Pollution, Air Pollution, Solid Waste Management & Deforestation. In addition to how can we overcome those issues.

The following phase is Mentorship and Implementation which is a complementary phase to the development where the students discuss their projects with their technical mentors to discover their areas of development. These mentors act as consultants and experts.

The mentorship splits into

  • Project Management Follow-up
  • Technical project follow-up.
  • Giving constructive feedback, ensuring the quality of the final product.
  • Help them in the selling and marketing experience.

In the end there is the final event where Teams will compete by presenting and evaluating their projects to an expert judging panel. The students will showcase their projects where each team has its own booth bearing the team’s name, trademark, and project.

The closing ceremony will include the winner’s announcement of receiving grants, and the governmental and private partners will be giving a speech of empowerment to youth in the environmental and sustainable development fields.

But the journey doesn’t end with the competitions, as the student activities start another chapter of continuous development with YLF.

The development journey helps the student activities to grow in various aspects through different training, workshops, and mentoring sessions throughout the year.
